Calepino

For some of us, there’s nothing better than putting pen to paper. For Fabrice Richard, there’s nothing better than a practical notebook with an ethical difference, so he created Calepino. Inspired by his hardworking father and Scandinavian design, these notebooks are an ideal sidekick – made for wear and tear. Named after Italian scholar Ambrogio Calepino (who devoted his 76 years to a multilingual dictionary), it seems like every element of Calepino’s history and production is bound to inspire.

Being everything a notebook ought to be and then some, Calepinos are high in quality – made entirely on French soil using 100% recycled stock that’s cut and collated locally by a family business in Nantes, France. Imprinted with vegetable-based ink, each book is individually monitored for quality, and every case is folded and composed by hand. You’d think Calepino couldn’t get any greener, but think again! They even store their products in recycled cardboard. Yeah, we’re in love too.
