The Calla Chair

Calla, calla, calla, calla, calla chameleon

The hole in the middle is waiting for you to peer in, but be careful, it could be like that episode of The Simpsons where Homer falls into a three dimensional world. The Calla is distinctive, and Antoine Fritsch and Vivien Durisottito designed it to live the life of a chair that oozes elegance. They created the Calla for the Italian company, Dolcefarniente, which means: ‘sweet about nothing’.

Calla’s beauty leaves us wary whether it will hold us safely in a sitting position and we wonder how comfortable it would be, but it ticks both boxes. The Calla is also charming the pants off mother nature by resembling the calla lilly and being constructed from natural rattan. This creation is just the beginning of a furniture range, can you imagine what the fold-out would look like?
