Power Flowers

Not just for hippies

Whilst the use of traditional, noisy and space-demanding wind turbines remains something of a contentious issue, Dutch studio NL Architects have rustled up an attractive urban alternative. The relatively delicate Power Flowers usurp the need for wide-open, unpopulated areas; produce energy with wind from any direction; and can

be installed close to where the electricity will actually be used. Boasting a much more organic look than their larger counterparts, the Power Flowers blend neatly into their built-up surroundings and can be connected to both smart grids and solar panels. We think we might’ve seen the future. And it could just be a bit tall and flower-shaped.
