Magno Wooden Radio

Radio gaga

The Magno Wooden Radio, from Indonesian designer Singgih Kartono, boasts sustainable credentials to impress the most hardline of eco-warriors. Committed to using minimal materials (and meticulously replacing what he does use, tree-for-tree), Kartono employs a workforce that harks from local villages with high-unemployment rates.

By continually increasing productivity, and through what he calls ‘positive psychological growth’, Kartono envisions the project as a way of boosting both forest and community regeneration in the region. Finally, the radios are a testament to the power of simple, attractive design that makes the most of base materials. We’re totally tuned in.
