Well now our simple dreams have become a glorious reality, as we can warm our houses with candle-powered heater Egloo – a special terracotta dome that radiates heat from a candle and saves you a tonne of money.

Designed and made in Italy, the Egloo came about when Marco Zagaria and Zen Molinari decided to stop burning through electricity. Using nothing but four teeny tiny tea-lights – which are pretty much nothing candles, right? – the Egloo can heat up a 20sqm space. Mind blown. What was once just a light-giving wax has become an ecological way to keep warm in the winter.
