Edgeland House

On the sly

Daaaamn. Can we move in? This quasi-boobie-trap abode is a modern take on the Native American Pit House; sunken to take advantage of the earth’s mass, so it’s cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Known as the Edgeland House, it’s seriously setting new standards for sustainability.

Designed by Bercy Chen Studio LP, this angular beauty boasts hydronic heating and an energy efficient roof. If you weren’t already green with envy, then do know they’ve reintroduced over 40 native species of plants and wildflowers to the Edgeland House’s roof and site – to help protect the local ecosystem.
